ABOUT ME

Meilina Utomo earned her bachelor degree in Comparative Cultures and Societies, focusing on Media and Society, after studying for four years in Japan. While studying in Japan, she was always fascinated by the graphic illustrations that she easily found in almost every place, every industry. She has been drawing even since she can hold a pencil but never figures out how turn her drawing skills into a career path. She then decides to focus her skills on illustration graphic.

Right before her graduation, she did an internship on an advertising agency, and later worked in the creative art division at a woman magazine in Jakarta. Learning from those experiences, she becomes familiar with tender pitching projects, copywriting, publishing, and working in team with tight deadlines.

After decided to go on freelance path, she is now working as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator for several magazines and book projects while building her own creative business, still related to her illustration passion. Feeding her passion on writing, she also regularly posts an illustration project on her blog which provides the breaders a print-out-yourself weekly schedule with a short article on each page.

Her illustration signature is girly, chic, fun, young, soft color mood, smudge edges, and unfinished feel. This goes along well with her feminine graphic design works. But don't hold your breath, cause she is still indeed growing in and experimenting on her art works. She might easily surprise you.
